Cities of Brazil- Campinas


Campinas is located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
In 2010, Campinas was the third most populous city of São Paulo and the 14th largest city in Brazil.




Campinas has an annual average temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius. 
The vegetation of the city is dominated by rainforest.




Its Human Development Index is 0.852, considering as high compared to in the country, being the seventh largest in the state.

Campinas was founded in 1774. Between the late eighteenth century and early twentieth century, the city had coffee and sugar cane as some of their important economic activities.




Campinas is the tenth richest city in Brazil, today it is responsible for at least 15 percent of the entire national scientific production, being the third largest center of research and development in Brazil.




It also has many historical,  tourist cultural or scientific attractions, such as museums, parks and theaters. The  Symphony Orchestra of Campinas was founded in 1974, it is considered one of the best in the country.
