Text of the skit:

Girlfriends
Yea, the orders up on number 4, number 7 needs catchup, thanks Bob, I´m taking a little break, I´ll be back in five.
Ohh, I quit smoking about a year ago but I didn´t tell anybody that I quit because I like to come out here to take a break.

Working in the diner it teaches you a lot about life. You learn a lot about people ´cause they got no reason to pretend. I mean, I´m a coffee shop waitress, nobody gets paid to be nice to me and nobody gets punished if they ain´t so you can tell real quite who´got a good heart and who don´t, and sometimes even I get surprised.

I mean like girlfriends, now I thought that I didn´t need any girlfriends, in fact I thought that girls did not make good friends. I didn´t trust women I know now it´s because I didn´t trust myself , and that´s after a lot of years of therapy, you now.
I found it far easier to relate to men which could have been part of my problem if you know what I mean.
Girlfriends are as good as cash in your wallet and I mean, I don´t care who you are!! You know it!  I don´t care who you are, where you live, what kind of car you drive, every woman needs a good girlfriend.  If you are here with your girlfriend, let me just hear you.

Yea, see there!  That´s right! Every woman needs somebody to talk to, to laugh and cry with, watch all those movies men won´t to with, stay up all night with. You are the happiest women here if you´ve got a good girlfriend!
Men need their friends! They don´t talk to ´em, but they need ´em, and we need our girlfriends! Because there are just somethings that girlfriends do best. Like talk. We have to talk or we´ll blow up.

My friend Janice is a world class talker and her husband says,  “Janice you just talk all you want and you tell me when you get to something I´m supposed to listen to”!
Now that works great for them, because men cannot handle all our talking. You can tell, they just go someplace else, their eyes just glase over like a crispy cream donnut and they are gone.

And what about laughter, now who else is going to make you laugh till you almost wet your pants¿ Come on, tell the truth! Nobody laughs harder than the girlfriends when they get together. And here is the beauty of it!  It doesn´t even have to be funny. You can say the stupidest thing you ever said in your entire life like “chicken wing”, and all of a sudden you are on the floor laughing and crying and hoping that birth and those babies don´t demand payment doesn´t happen and then there.

And here is how you know that kind of laughter just comes from being with your girlfriends, the next day it ain´t funny. You try to tell it to somebody else, it´s not funny. You try to tell it to a man and it is painful.

Well, I have talked all the way through my break, and I´ve got to get back down there, ´cause I guarantee you Bob forgot to give catchup to table number seven.
Alright you all take care now, you hear!!!!!

The Invisible Woman

A very interesting video!!!!
What is there in this video that helps you see life in a different perspective?

TEXT:
It started to happen gradually. I would walk into a room and say something, and no one would notice. I would say, “Turn the TV down please. And nothing would happen. So, I would get louder, “Turn the TV down please!!” Finally I would have to go over and turn the TV down by myself.  And then I started to notice it else ware. My husband and I had been in a party for three hours and I was ready to go. I looked over and he was talking to a friend from work and I walked over and he kept right on talking. He didn´t even turn toward me. That’s when I started to put it together.  He can´t see me! I´m invisible!! I´m invisible!!
Then I started to notice it more and more. I would walk my son to school, and his teacher would say, “Jake, who´s that with you¿ And my son would say,”nobody.” Grant it he´s just five, but nobody¿
One night a group of us gathered and we were celebrating the return of a friend from England. Janice had just this fabulous trip, and she was going on and on about the hotel she stayed in, and I was sitting there just looking at the other women at the table. I put my make up on in the car on my way there. I had on an old dress because it was the only clean and I had my unwashed hair put up in a banana clip and I was feeling pretty darned pathetic .
And then Janice turned to me and she said, “I brought you this!”   It was a book on the great cathedrals in Europe. I didn´t understand. And then I read her inscription. She wrote, “with admiration for the greatness of what you are building when no one sees”
You can´t name the names of the people who built the great cathedrals! Over and over again looking at these mammoth works, you scam down to find the names and it says builders unknown, unknown, unknown.   They completed things not knowing that anyone would notice. There is  a story about one of the builders who was carving a tiny bird inside a beam that would be covered over by a roof, and someone came up to him and said, “Why are you spending so much time on something no one will ever see. And it´s reported that the builder replied, “Because God sees!” They trusted that God saw everything. They gave their whole lives for a work, a mammoth work they would never see finished. They showed day after day. Some of these cathedrals took over a hundred years to build. That was more than one working man’s working life time. Day after day and they made personal sacrifices for no credit.
Showing up at a job they would never see finished, for building their name would never be on. One writer even goes as far to say, “No great cathedral s will ever be built again, because so few people are willing to sacrifice to that degree.
I close the book, and it was as if I heard God saying, “I see you. You are not invisible to me!”
“No sacrifice is too small for me to notice! I see every cupcake baked, every sequence sewed on and I smile over everyone.” “I see every tear of disappointment, when things don´t go the way you want them to go, but remember, you are building a great cathedral. It will not be finished in your lifetime, but sadly you will never get to live there, but if you build it well, I will.”
At times my invisibility is felt like an affliction to me, but it is not a disease that is erasing my life. It is the cure for the disease of self centeredness It is the antidote to my own pride.
It´s ok that they don´t see me!  It´s ok that they don´t know!
I don´t want my son to tell he´s bringing home from college, “you´re not going to believe what my mom does, she gets up at 4 in the morning and bakes pies and hand makes  the turkey and presses all the linen!”
Even if I do all those things, I don´t want him to say that!
I want him to come home, and secondly, I want him to say to his friend, “you´re going to love it there!!”
It´s ok they don´t see, we don´t work for them, we work for Him! We sacrifice for Him! They will never see, not if we do it right, not if we do it well!
Let´s pray that our work will stand as a monument to an even greater God!!

Baggage

What does baggage mean in this video?
How can we relate this to our own lives?
Do we have things in our life that keep us from advancing?

When I was 9 years old, my mom and dad split up! It was a pretty big deal but, I didn´t know how to talk about it. Some of my friend’s parents were divorcing and they seemed to do OK with it but, I thought my world was being ripped apart.

“I just don´t love you anymore!”

“Why can´t you give this one more try?”

I started packing things away, maybe I´d run away, maybe I just wanted to protect the things I loved the most and have them close to me all the time!

“Why are you being so unreasonable?”

“Joint custody was not my idea!”

I carried my suitcase to school, friends houses, to church, everywhere I went really and for a couple of years nobody saw it or so I thought  and then one day at church my class teacher asked me about it, she said, “ Anne, looks like your carrying a heavy load there.”  I told her it wasn´t heavy, cause it was all the things I loved and I opened it up a little bit to show her what was inside. I tried to tell her about little bear and how scary he was sometimes, but instead of helping me she gave me this big Bible and she crammed it inside my bag and she told me that if I would accept Jesus everything would get better, but I never saw Jesus, but I just got the Bible. And it made my bag heavier.

I tried to concentrate on my school work, but I couldn´t, I had so many bags. I had teachers that put a lot of pressure on me.

“Anne, you have so much potential!”

They kept on telling me how smart I was, and how if I would just more and wok harder I would make better grades and I could really get into a good college, but, which I really wanted to do. I know, I know they couldn´t see what I was already carrying, so they loaded me up with all the books I would need to learn, what I needed to know.

There was this one kid in my math class  we talked sometimes,

“Hi, Anne!”

And then one day he put a gun to his head. A bunch of us attended the service, and all I could think was, he probably had a lot of bags like I had and he just wanted to blow them away.  Then someone told me about Jesus, I said, “Oh no you don´t, I´m still lugging around a big Bible in this bag and all it is, is heavy, “No thanks”

They said, Jesus said, “Come to me anyone who is tired of carrying all their bags, right, who isn´t, “Come to me and I will give you rest!”

“How, I´m so tired, and they said,

“Look”   “What” “His arms”  “So”  “Their open”  “They were nailed open.” “So you could put your bags on them”

“I can´t!!”  “Then lay them at his feet!”

They won´t come off me, they won´t come off! I´ve been carrying them for so long”  “Put them on him!”  “I can´t!” “I can´t”
