Uma delas é perceber a sequencia na frase.

     ESS 0303

Exercise 3. Practice the position of adverbials of place and time. Substitute the words in the proper positions.

The teacher has breakfast   at a restaurant   in the morning.

English Sentence Structure - Lesson 6 ex 15

The use of posessive pronouns:

singular:    my, your, his, her, its,
plural:       our, your, their

Usually, we use the personal pronouns at the beggining of a sentence, but when there is something that we talk about that is posessive we use the posessive pronouns.

My car is blue.
My job is fantastic.

But, in lesson 15 we find the following examples:

personal                                  posessive
Mary                    washed              her           hands.

English Sentence Structure - Lesson 6 ex. 6

Articles:  a and an

When  do I use the article a in English?
I use a before any word that is sigular and that starts with a consonant.
example:  a book,  a car,  a house  etc...

I use an in words that start with vowels
examples:  an apple, an elephant  etc..

I can also use an before   "hour"   because the "h" is silent and when I say hour I don´t pronounce the consoant h but instead the o.   (our)

Enjoy this lesson!

Exercise 6. Practice the use of a, an and some with nouns. Substitute the words into the statement and make the necessary changes.

We need to remember that names of people, languages,
with a few exeptions of countries, streets or time do not use "the"!!

In general, when there is a name, it is capitalized... we don´t use the.

English Sentence Structure - Lesson 4 ex 16

This is an interesting lesson. We find this sentence:

The    store    is     new.
           noun         adjective

In English we can put the adjective first.  ex.

It    is   a    new        store.
                  adjetive   noun
Em inglês podemos colocar o adjectivo antes do substantivo.

ANSWER:              Yes, he   is.

As you can notice the verb "is" or in this case the auxilary is found in the beginning of the question and  in the answer it is found at the end,

Como pode observar o verbo "is" ou neste caso é usado como auxiliar. Na pergunta encontramos no começo, mas na resposta encontramos no final da resposta.
