Cities of Brazil- Belo Horizonte







Belo Horizonte is a Brazilian city, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais.


Surrounded by the Sierra Corral, which serves as its natural and historical reference frame, it was designed and built to be the political and administrative capital of the state of Minas Gerais under the influence of the ideas of positivism, in a moment of strong appeal of republican ideology in the country. 





In 2010, its population was 2,375,444 inhabitants, Belo Horizonte has been nominated by the Population Crisis Committeebeing the sixth most populous city in the country.




The city is known worldwide and exerts significant influence nationally and even internationally, either from the  cultural, economic or politicalstandpoint of view. 



It has important monuments, parks and museums, including the Museum of Art Pampulha, the Museum of Arts and Crafts, the Museum of Natural Sciences at PUC Minas, the Circuit Cultural Freedom Square, the Pampulha Architectural Group, the Central Market and Savassi.
