Cities of Brazil- Porto Alegre

Porto Alegre is a Brazilian city and the capital of Brazil's southern state, Rio Grande do Sul.

The town was formed from the arrival of Azorean couples in mid-eighteenth century. In the nineteenth century Porto Alegre enjoyed the influx of many German and Italian immigrants. Other immigrants came from Spanish, African, Polish and Lebanese countries.

The city developed rapidly, it is one of the greenest cities of the country, it is a regional center of attraction of migrants in search of better living conditions, work and study, and it has an infrastructure in several respects is superior to the other capitals of Brazil.

Porto Alegre also has a qualified and diverse culture, with intense activity in virtually all areas of arts, sports and sciences, besides having rich folk traditions and a significant heritage buildings  and numerous museums.

Foz do Iguaçu- Brazil

Foz do Iguaçu is a beautiful place, in my point of view the most beautiful falls that I have seen! 

Foz do Iguaçu is located in the Brazilian state of Paraná.

It´s beauty brings a lot of tourists, being the second destination of foreign tourists in the country and the first in the southern region of Brazil.

It is known internationally as one of the 7 Wonders of Nature. 

In 1542, a Spanish man, Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca arrived in the Iguazu River and was guided by the Caingangues Indians, it was this way that he reached the falls. He is known as the "discoverer" of the Falls.

The history of the Iguaçu National Park begins in 1916, with  Alberto Santos Dumont, the father of aviation.

Foz do Iguaçu is internationally known for its attractions, bringing visitors from Brazil and the world. The most famous of these is the set of falls called Iguazu Falls. 

Near Foz do Iguaçu we can see the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant, the second largest in the world in size and first in generating power.

The Itaipu Binational Hydroelectric is the largest dam in the world in annual energy production. 

Foz do Iguaçu borders the contries of Argentina and Paraguay. It has many other interesting places that atract many. 

Another attraction offered by neighboring cities is the ability to meet the Argentine side of the Falls.

Brazil- Sao Vicente 2

  

The city of Sao Vicente:

The city was founded by Martim Afonso de Sousa, on January 22, 1532, São  Vicente is considered Nationality Cellula Mater.

The city of São Vicente is located 69 km from the city of São Paulo, São Vicente offers 3.6 kilometers of beaches. Some beaches like Itararé and Gonzaguinha are quite busy. Others are still almost unexplored,they conceal mysteries of nature and the history of the city.

Porchat Island remains one of the most beautiful sights of the region. With entertainment for all tastes

With a spacious bay and calm waters São Vicente allows the practice of water sports like sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and jet skiing.

The Ponte Pênsil, a bridge is one of the tourist cards of Sao Vicente. It was the first bridge to be erected and idealized in Brazil in 1914.

The story of the origin:

The story of the origin of the name St. Vincent began long ago, in the year of  325, in the Spanish city of Huesca, the Province of Saragoza. There a  young fellow called Vincent was born. He was a dedicated priest who stood out for his work, so that the bishop of Saragoza, entrusted Valerio with the task as a Christian preacher and catechetical counselor.

They and many others were arrested and condemned, and killed, but through it all he did not deny the Christian faith.

Through this incident Vincent was canonized and received the name of St. Vincent Martyr.

So when a Portuguese expedition led by Gaspar de Lemos arrived here on January 22, 1502, he gave the name to the island, St. Vincent.

Cities of Brazil- Gramado

When I talk about Gramado I am talking about a beautiful place. It is beautiful in the spring, summer, fall and winter!!

Gramado is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. It is located in the Serra Gaucha, 

Its population in 2009 was 33,706 inhabitants. 

Its demography is ethnically diverse, with strong German and Italian influence.

 In 1913, settlers of German descendants and Italian immigrants settled there, starting the settlement.

Its name seems to have originated from a small field that was there and that served as a resting place.
