The Pantanal is a beautiful place consisting primarily of a savanna steppe. It is mostly a wetland, having 250 sq km in length and the average elevation of 100 meters, It is located in southern Mato Grosso and northwestern Mato Grosso do Sul, both states of Brazil, and also encompasses the northern Paraguay and eastern Bolivia,
Despite the name, there are a small number of wetlands in the Pantanal region. Moreover, it has few mountains, which makes it easy to flood.
The Pantanal is one of the largest dry areas on the planet and is located in the center of South America.
The region is a lowland influenced by rivers that drain the basin of the Upper Paraguay, where it develops a fauna and flora of rare beauty and abundance, influenced by four major biomes: Amazon, Cerrado, Chaco and the Atlantic.
