How do we use  "the"  in sentences?

We need to remember that names of people, languages,  

with a few exeptions of countries, streets or time do not use "the"!!

Look at the examples: 

When listening to exercise 2 try to understand how and when "the" is used.
In general, when there is a name, it is capitalized... we don´t use the.

For example:
Mr. John Smith    does not use "the"
but, the doctor needs "the"

Substitute the words which are given. Use the article the where an article is necessary.

I am going to see the professor.

 

Professor Miller  I AM GOING TO SEE PROFESSOR MILLER.

doctor           I AM GOING TO SEE THE DOCTOR.

2. Miss Smith                
3. United States            
4. Canada                      
5. Pacific Ocean            
6. Pennsylvania Avenue
